There is No Spoon Current mood: exhausted I was not in the best of moods yesterday. I have in fact, been in somewhat of a funk all week, but that came to a head yesterday. I was feeling a little beaten down by the system and all that - you know how it goes. You're paranoid everyone hates you (for no reason), you're sure you're the biggest waste of space on the planet and you really just want to go to bed at seven o' clock. However, going to bed means you'll have to eventually wake up the next morning. Yes, this was the extent of my funk yesterday. I decided, in my wisdom, that I needed to try to win out my funk by watching something that kicks ass. I think it's been about five years or so since I last saw The Matrix. Surprisingly, I love that movie. I know parts of it are cheesy, but it's a great idea, it's a perfect part for Keanu Reaves (he does the best "woah" in it), and there are some excellent fight scenes that get the adreneline flowing. That was just what I needed. I didn't need to watch any cry-ey, soppy chick flicks - I needed techno and shooting, with some existential philosophy thrown in for good measure. I had to be forced to even consider watching The Matrix some five years ago, but I'm glad I now actually own it and can save it for those times when I'm feeling delicate and need to vicariously kick some ass.
