I Love Old Movies! Current mood: tired I just saw The Apartment with Jack Lemmon and Shirley Maclaine. It's a great old movie. I was surprised by how black a comedy it is. I don't want to give anything away, it is really worth a watch. Despite the B&W, the late 50's glamour, the lack of gratuitous sex and language, it seemed more modern than a movie should which is 45 years old. I have a theory that our concept of modernity is a myth anyway. If you strip away some of the trimmings and social constraints which dictate how movies and literature can express themselves, the same themes resonate whether in the modern day or 500 years ago. With that thought, I am off to bed. I will be glad when my structured life begins next week. No more partying for me! Currently watching : The Apartment Release date: 18 December, 2001
