Exhausted, but in a good way.

I had an intensive orientation last week for my graduate assistantship job followed by a rough (in many different ways) weekend. Then I actually started classes and the job at eight in the morning on Monday. I suppose it's all the newness, getting used to the driving again, and the actual physical getting up early that's making me so tired. I'm not a morning person, I never have been one, but I realise there are opportunities like this that are more than worth getting up for. I treated college and my general direction in life like a joke for so long. Finally I seem to have found something I really enjoy, I want to do more of, and I also feel is worthwhile to both me and other people. In my first two days tutoring, I have already tutored two ESL students, and while that is supposed to be the hardest kind of tutoring, I found it challenging but fun. It's actually interesting to see how people who speak different languages deal with English. It makes no sense to most English speakers, so I can imagine how hard it must be. Apart from some totally understandable grammar mistakes, their writing often puts we English speakers to shame.
So I'm glad to be tired from doing something like this. However, to any of my friends who read this, you may see me sometime in December! I am likely to be constantly studying until then, if my first week is anything to go by.
