| Exhausted, but in a good way. I had an intensive orientation last week for my graduate assistantship job followed by a rough (in many different ways) weekend. Then I actually started classes and the job at eight in the morning on Monday. I suppose it's all the newness, getting used to the driving again, and the actual physical getting up early that's making me so tired. I'm not a morning person, I never have been one, but I realise there are opportunities like this that are more than worth getting up for. I treated college and my general direction in life like a joke for so long. Finally I seem to have found something I really enjoy, I want to do more of, and I also feel is worthwhile to both me and other people. In my first two days tutoring, I have already tutored two ESL students, and while that is supposed to be the hardest kind of tutoring, I found it challenging but fun. It's actually interesting to see how people who speak different languages deal with English. It makes no sense to most English speakers, so I can imagine how hard it must be. Apart from some totally understandable grammar mistakes, their writing often puts we English speakers to shame.
